U2 will launch a 2023 residency, slated to take place at the new MSG Sphere at the Venetian in Las Vegas.  The concerts, dubbed ‘U2: UV Achtung Baby Live at the Sphere,’ were confirmed by a press release confirming the shows. The upcoming performances will see the band play at the newly constructed 17,500-seat venue, which boasts 500,000 plus square feet of LED screens. U2’s residency will mainly focus on material from 1991’s top-chart LP, ‘Achtung Baby.

A statement issued by the Irish rocker said: “[The concerts] will see the world’s biggest rock band launch the world’s most exciting all-new-state-of-the-art venue, MSG Sphere at the Venetian, in Las Vegas this fall.” The press release also confirmed the absence of drummer Larry Mullen Jr., who had to undergo surgery earlier this year, and shared that Bram van den Berg will fill Mullen’s role during his truancy.  The band said: “It’s going to take all we’ve got to approach the Sphere without our bandmate in the drum seat, but Larry has joined us in welcoming Bam van den Berg, who is a force in his own right.”
