Aerosmith has been forced to postpone their current their farewell tour while lead singer Steven Tyler recovers from vocal cord damage. Aerosmith kicked off their Peace Out: The Farewell Tour on September 2 at Philadelphia’s Wells Fargo Center.

The 75-year-old Tyler wrote in a statement via the rock band’s social media pages: “I’m heartbroken to say I have received strict doctor’s orders not to sing for the next thirty days. I sustained vocal cord damage during Saturday’s show that led to subsequent bleeding. We’ll need to postpone a few dates so that we can come back and give you the performance you deserve.”

Rescheduled dates include Detroit, Chicago, Washington DC, Toronto, Raleigh, and Cleveland. All six shows have been pushed to January and February 2024. All previously purchased tickets will be honored for the rescheduled dates. Refunds will be available for those unable to attend. Fans with questions regarding refunds are asked to reach out to their point of purchase.

The band are set to return to the stage on October 11 at the Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida. The tour will continue to travel across the country and Canada through February 2024.
